Stephen K. Tyring, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A. is an expert in the areas of dermatology, virology, medicine, and infectious diseases.  He is renowned for his pivotal research and development of new medications which are now FDA approved and widely used.  His career has been dedicated to the therapy and prevention of infectious diseases.  In the early 1990's, he became heavily involved in vaccine development for the following viruses: Human Immune Deficiency virus (HIV); Herpes Simplex virus (HSV) 2; Varicella Zoster virus (VZV); and Human Papillomavirus (HPV).  His work for these vaccines continues today.  He has received 15 federal grants and coutless private grants for his research in cutaneous and viral diseases.

Dr. Tyring has written numerous books, several of which are medical texts considered the definitive resource in the fields of dermatology and virology.  Some of his honors and awards he has received include Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Joseph B. Kass Award for Research in Prevention of Disease, Mead Johnson Award for Excellence of Research by Intern-Resident, Roche Laboratory's Award in Basic Sciences, Intern-Resident Division, J. Lewis Pipkin Award in Dermatology, American Medical Associatin Award for Outstanding Clinical Research, and Paul Anderson Award Memorial Research Award from Pacific Dermatology Association.
